Ghanima Gaditana,
M.A., has performed and taught Oriental Dance professionally
for many years. Formerly a student of Jamila Salimpour and Aida Al-Adawi
and choreographing member of Bal-Anat, she is a specialist in
ethnic/folkloric styles. She has made several trips overseas for
purposes of dance and costume research, visiting Tunisia, Morocco,
Jugoslavia, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Additionally, she has
organized study tours to Turkey, focusing on the Great Goddess.

Ghanima has also studied classical and folkloric
styles of instrumental and vocal music, ballet, modern dance, tap, hula,
folkdance, and movement analysis (Labanotation). She received her Master of Arts degree in
Counselling Psychology.
|
|
|
Ghanima teaches folkdancing and
Oriental dance in the San Francisco South Bay Area, and is a member
of Sviraci, a band which plays Bulgarian and Macedonian village
style music for folkdancers. She performs at restaurants throughout the
South Bay.
